The widespread world of special event trends comes and goes as easily as the season's fashions, but there is one trend that just might make a permanent impact on the event production industry: going green.
Event production has a significant impact on the environment; putting on a one-day show can eat up resources and burn a great deal of energy; fossil fuels in diesel generators, enormous paper use, specialized foods, extensive trucking, long distance transportation for talent and attendees, extensive non-recyclable waste (sets, red carpets, etc) and much more.

From utilizing the new Eco-Shape water bottle that will replace the traditional bottle of water to promoting water stations where guests may refill their water bottles. RCano keeps safety in mind with economy size bottles of sunscreen and bug repellent gifted at outdoor events. RCano Events has planned and expensed extensive landscape manicures on NYC Parks for previous outdoor events. RCano Events promotes reusable resources, included potted flowers. Large structures, plywood, furniture and props have been stored, cleaned and reused over the years. RCano Events tries to prevent new construction as a means to lower utilization of new wood. They have replaced traditional sternos with Ecoflame Gel - an ethanol, sugar cane based and non-toxic heating gel. This environmentally friendly product reduces carbon dioxide emissions by at least 50%, burns cleanly and eliminates all other poisonous greenhouse gases. Cooking oil and grease from the kitchens is safely and properly removed and handled by a company that is approved and licensed by New York City DEP and DEC. The grease is treated, the glycerin byproduct is taken and used for bio-diesel and the remaining materials are used to make soap.
