Leading developer of CAD & BIM skills assessment software for the AEC sector, CADsmart today announced another world first - a fully interactive skills assessment module for Autodesk's popular Revit® platform.

Clearwater, Florida (PRWEB) December 1, 2008 -- Leading developer of CAD & BIM skills assessment software for the AEC sector, CADsmart today announced another world first - a fully interactive skills assessment module for Autodesk's popular Revit® platform.

CADsmart plan to showcase their new software during December's Autodesk University convention in Las Vegas (2-5 December).

CADsmart's MD, Rory Vance, explains, 'Having created highly acclaimed skills assessments for leading 2D CAD platforms such as AutoCAD & MicroStation, we realised that the time was right to step into the 'BIM' space, and create a suite of tools for our customers who are moving beyond traditional drafting techniques. It's vitally important for firms of architects and engineers wishing to make the transition to more complex CAD processes that they have reliable productivity measurement tools and systems in place to maximise their return on investment. CADsmart is one such tool.'

The Revit Architecture module is the first in a series of planned BIM skills assessment tools; it will swiftly be followed by assessments for Revit Structure and Revit MEP in early 2009.

CADsmart's live skills assessment software works inside the Revit platform, so candidates are using the tools, as they would at their work station. The assessment covers 10 core areas of basic Revit skills; basic element creation, views & sheets, detailing, annotation & keynotes, component placement, dimensions & rules, importing DWG, families and parts, scheduling and coordinates & orientation.

Upon completion of their assessment, candidates receive a certificate with a full breakdown of stage scores and times, together with detailed training needs analysis. The software also has a live recording feature, so sessions can be replayed for training or support purposes afterward.

As part of the launch promotion, CADsmart are offering a 50% discount on the first year's subscription to the first 100 firms who register for a pilot before the end of December, and who subsequently purchase a subscription by the end of February 2009. All existing CADsmart customers will automatically receive the Revit module at no extra charge as part of their subscription.

CADsmart is the world's leading developer of independent live CAD and BIM skills assessment software for Autodesk and Bentley CAD products. Used by many of the global top 100 AEC firms, CADsmart's products enable companies to raise CAD productivity and standards.
