The next installment of "Make A Star," the first Web-to-TV talent show, will air Saturday, December 20th at 10:30 a.m. ET/PT as a syndicated program on FUSE.
This new show marks a major advancement in interactive entertainment and points to a new direction for the industry, when user-generated content will become an ever increasing part of television.

Orange, CA (PRWEB) December 20, 2008 -- The next installment of "Make A Star," the first Web-to-TV talent show, will air Saturday, December 20th at 10:30 a.m. ET/PT as a syndicated program on FUSE.

So far three artists and bands - Stacie Rose, of Rutherford, New Jersey, New Orleans Rhythm & Blues Company, of Mandeville, Louisiana, and Jay Mannon, of Warminster, Pennsylvania - have qualified to proceed to the "Hollywood Phase" of the Original Music Contest.

Make A Star's new "A Capella Holiday Carol" contest is also underway which offers a $1,000 cash prize to the winner. The new contest is a fun way for amateur singers to take part in the show by singing their favorite holiday songs. All submissions are posted on the Make A Star Web site which is viewed by thousands of visitors each week.

"Make A Star marks the beginning of a new era in entertainment, where the Internet and television are no longer separate, but linked," said Dr. Iman Foroutan, Chairman and CEO of Equal Chance Productions and Contest Factory, which created and developed the show. Dr. Foroutan and Contest Factory also own the patent to the online contest process. "This new show marks a major advancement in interactive entertainment and points to a new direction for the industry, when user-generated content will become an ever increasing part of television."

Make A Star will run for 13 weeks as a syndicated program on FUSE and is dramatically different from other reality contestant shows, like American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. Dubbed the "equal chance show," Make A Star uses a patented online process, making it easier for more people around the nation to participate in the competition by simply uploading a video of their performance, rather than having to travel to far away cities to audition. The show also isn't limited to young contestants. Anyone who is over 16 years old may participate.

About Make A Star:

"Make A Star" is a division of Contest Factory, which has been developing integrated product promotion, market research and game applications in the form of online contests for businesses, interactive television and wireless devices since 2001.

MakeAStar.com was first launched in 2001 as the first online music competition platform using a bracketed tournament format. The Make A Star TV show, which is created and produced by Equal Chance Productions, is a new music talent show and the first-ever Web-to-TV program. Dubbing itself the "equal chance show," it has modernized the submission and voting process by allowing contestants to upload their videos to a Web site, rather than requiring them to travel long distances to make personal auditions. The show's debut air date was December 6, 2008 as a syndicated program on FUSE. It is created, developed and produced by Equal Chance Productions in association with Contest Factory.
