Linfield College is launching online, accelerated versions of their two most popular bachelor's degree and certificate programs. Beginning February 2009, students nationwide will be able to complete Linfield's Accounting Degree and Post Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate Programs entirely online and in a shorter time span.

McMinnville, Oregon (PRWEB) December 21, 2008 -- Linfield College is launching online, accelerated versions of their two most popular bachelor's degree and certificate programs. Beginning February 2009, students nationwide will have the opportunity to complete Linfield's Accounting Degree and Post Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate Programs entirely online and in a shorter time span.

Enrollment in Linfield's Accounting Programs has grown over the past five years. The number of admitted adult students in the Post Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate has increased 100% since 2005. This year, the accounting programs became the largest of the seven degree and certificate programs offered by the Linfield College Adult Degree Program.

Adult learners who work full-time and have an average of two years of college credits can now complete all of the Accounting Degree required courses online in twenty four months. Linfield has generous policies about transfer of credits from community colleges and four year universities.

The accelerated Post Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate can be completed in ten months. Previously, completion of the certificate took fifteen months. The Accounting Certificate can now be completed entirely online and is available nationwide. Both programs prepare individuals for advancement in all areas of the accounting profession - public accounting (becoming a Certified Public Accountant), government accounting and corporate accounting.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a strong demand for accounting positions over the next decade. Between 2006 and 2016, employment is expected to grow eighteen percent, which is faster than the average for all occupations. Driving growth is an increase in the number of businesses, changing financial laws and corporate governance regulations, and an overall increase in accountability.
