San Jose, Costa Rica (PRWEB) February 9, 2008 -- In a history-making effort, 18 year-old PocketFiver Mike McDonald, known in the online poker community as "timex," became the youngest person to ever win a European Poker Tour event. How to Deal with Bad Beats
McDonalds's story is different than most aspiring poker players his age, in that he enjoys the full support of his father, who accompanied him to Aruba last October for the 2007 UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic - one of McDonald's very first live poker experiences and his first major tournament - which was covered by our sister site, PocketFivesLive.com.

The P5's community came together in support as their colleague outlasted 410 other aspiring poker players to capture the first place prize, including fellow P5'er Christian "charder30" Harder.
Super Bowl XLII didn't keep PocketFivers from having an incredible week in major Sunday online tournaments. Long-time site member "CobaltBlue" earned his largest career score this past Sunday with a $25,000 victory in the Bodog $100k Guaranteed weekly tournament, edging out "bearbeer" and "People_Mover" who got 6th and 8th respectively in that tournament.

This week's featured poker articles on the PocketFives.com homepage include advice from highly respected poker player David "Seal" Eisenstein, who gives a step-by-step formula for detecting weaknesses in your poker game. David's article, titled "How to Plug a Leak," focuses on ways a player can improve his/her expectation by identifying problems and taking action. His past articles include gems such as "How to Deal with Bad Beats" and "Perspective," both which can be found under the Contributing Writers link on the site.

New additions to the PocketFives.com Online Poker Rankings this week include "bigredAK," Australian phenomenon Steve "stevoL" Leonard, former ranked pro Aaron Been, "The-Toilet," and "GhettoFabolous", who debuted in the #86 spot after being unranked last week.

For more than three years, online tournament players have made use of poker-related content on PocketFives' public forums. The popular PocketFives.com Poker Discussion Forum is a place where online players meet to discuss strategy, cheer-on fellow members, and share information on a wide range of poker related topics.
