Missoula, Montana (PRWEB) February 11, 2008 -- Got six minutes? At sixminutestyle.com, that's all it takes to pickup new cocktail recipes (green-tea martini, anyone?), create a kids' party table that actually encourages coloring on the tabletop, or learn which household items must be replaced and when (feeling okay about those thousands of dust mites sleeping with you?).

Six Minute Style, a lifestyle Web site and video podcast, serves up a lot of information in a short amount of time. "Created for people short on time (and who isn't?) yet interested in cooking, entertaining, wines, travel destinations and new products, the program presents lifestyle tips in a fresh, innovative way."

A new video each week greets visitors. Airing now is part one of a two-part series on baby showers: a diaper "cake" centerpiece project now; Must Have gift ideas for new mom and baby next. Last week, it was Signature Cocktails. This unexpected mix of story angles---babies and cocktails---is by design. According to Six Minute Style creator and host Susan Doherty, the interesting balance is precisely what she was aiming for when she launched the site just three months ago.

'People are complex,' she says, 'and so are their interests. I wanted to create an accessible resource that offers quick and easy information on a variety of lifestyle subjects.' Plus, she adds, 'Mixing it up keeps it interesting for me, too.'

Six Must Haves in Six Minutes is a monthly video segment dedicated to products, goods and services that Doherty "just loves." Viewers are encouraged to share their own ideas for Must Haves; if an item is selected, that viewer receives a gift basket full of all the other goodies showcased in the episode. Past episodes have included Holiday Gift Ideas and Doherty's own list of personal favorites. She's now gathering ideas for Six Must Haves for Dogs.

In addition to the weekly video and Must Haves, the Web site features Travel and Party Ideas. In the works is Show and Tale, a section devoted to film and book reviews.

To keep things fresh, Doherty draws from her varied career path to find inspiration. 'For years, I worked as a freelance writer, marketing consultant and producer/director/actor,' she explains. 'All of which is a fancy way of saying I've waited tables, bartended and organized events for numerous restaurants and caterers, picking up tips and secrets along the way. Now, I get to share them.'

And those thousands of dust mites referenced earlier? Tune in to "Chuck It," an upcoming video segment, for more information. You'll be cleaning out your closets and other corners of your home in no time.
