Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 11, 2008 -- Fashion designer Tami Lynn, known for her unique knitwear line, the Tami Lynn Collection, will be launching an all new line of clothing and accessories based on the iconic good luck cat, "Maneki Neko." The cute cat has been a tremendously popular symbol of good luck in Japan for centuries, and has since gained popularity around the world. Tami Lynn has become the worldwide ambassador for this beloved cat. The popularity of "Maneki Neko" will continue to grow with the introduction of her playful loungewear, handbags, active wear, jewelry, belts, watches, and other accessories. The official launch of the new collection will take place this coming week at the MAGIC clothing and apparel show in Las Vegas, booth # AC40805. "Maneki Neko is known throughout the world as a happy symbol of good luck and prosperity," notes Tami Lynn. "Bringing this classic kitty image to apparel and accessories seems like a natural way for the character to evolve, as well as to give fans a new way to have fun and enjoy the luck Maneki Neko can bring."

Until the launch of Tami Lynn's new collection, "Maneki Neko" has most often been seen as a ceramic statue at the entrance of restaurants and businesses, welcoming guests with a raised paw and a friendly face. The first images were said to have appeared in Japan in the 1600's, with countless legends and stories about the cat entertaining fans ever since. In Japan, "Maneki Neko" has been popular on key chains, as a piggy bank, and other trinkets. Tami Lynn's new collection will be the first of its kind.

Tami Lynn knows a hit when she sees it. In addition to her recent venture into fashion design, she has been a producer and manager in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years, producing a number of feature films and documentaries, as well as the NBC television series JESSE. She has launched and managed the careers of dozens of stars, including Valerie Bertinelli for 10 years, and Christina Applegate for 26 years.
