Mount Kisco, NY (PRWEB) February 13, 2008 -- On February 12, Grand Prix New York Racing, LLC (GPNY) ―- a 120,000-square-foot indoor entertainment and recreational kart racing facility -― will open its doors to the general public. The new venue is designed to provide a unique alternative to those who enjoy high-speed thrills, no matter what the weather.

GPNY celebrated its official Grand Opening on January 17 and has since been booked solid with private functions for the next three months. Now, the final touches have been made and the facility is ready for "Arrive and Drive" customers.

"After six years of planning, we are thrilled to open our doors to the public," said Sy Aryeh, Managing Member of GPNY. "If you love speed, the feeling of an adrenaline rush, or simply want to try something truly unique and new, I encourage you to get behind the wheel of one of our championship-caliber karts. Enjoy the thrill and excitement of wheel-to-wheel racing in the safe, fun atmosphere that our facility provides."

Any racer who is over 16 years old and holds a valid driver's license can get behind the wheel. GPNY has up to five races every hour, with as many as 15 racers in each race running on both tracks. Accompanied by either a day license ($15) or an annual license ($50), each race is $25 and comes with a safety briefing followed by a 16-lap competition with other drivers on either track. Racers will be provided with a racing suit and all appropriate safety equipment.

Drivers will race one of GPNY's 55 Sodi RX7 gasoline-powered karts (www.sodikart.com). The 6.5 horsepower, Honda GX 200 4-stroke engines reach a maximum speed of 40 mph. The karts run on two quarter-mile-long, 24-foot-wide racetracks that can be linked into one half-mile-long track for special league and endurance races. The tracks can be shaped into six different configurations with six-foot-high elevation changes and 14 flowing turns per track.

Slated to open in March, "Fuel," a 3,000-square-foot, 100-125 seat restaurant, will serve patrons delicious, high-end American cuisine - anything from a burger to filet mignon. "Fuel" sits off the track (separated by floor-to-ceiling glass), allowing people to dine and view the racing action simultaneously. Customers will also be able to relax at the "Sky Lounge," an elegant in-house bar and lounge, equipped with a high-tech system that prevents anyone from driving under the influence.

In addition to its "Arrive and Drive" races and its racing leagues, GPNY offers a driver training and safety course for people of all ages, a junior racing school for children aged 8 to 16, and an adult racing school taught by GPNY racing pros. Sessions for the driver training, safety course, and racing schools will begin in March.

The hours of operation are Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 7 a.m. to Midnight; and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Grand Prix New York, LLC is located at 333 North Bedford Road, Mount Kisco, New York 10549. Phone: 914-241-3131.
