Longtime Store Owner Starts New Web Business -- www.ChisholmEStore.com

Horace Chisholm ran a successful brick and mortar store for years, retiring a year and a half ago despite being beloved by the public. Now he comes out of retirement to bring his business online at www.ChisholmEStore.com, sharing his feelings and information at www.ChisholmEStoreBlog.com.

Tillsonburg, ON (PRWEB) February 14, 2008 -- Horace Chisholm ran a successful brick and mortar store for years, retiring a year and a half ago despite being beloved by the public. Now he comes out of retirement to bring his business online at www.ChisholmEStore.com, sharing his feelings and information at www.ChisholmEStoreBlog.com.

"I have been in business for over 37 years. I had a physical store, but I retired a year and a half ago," says Horace Chisholm, fondly remembering his storefront. For many people, this would be the end of the story, but it's really where Horace begins. "I thought I retired, but I didn't feel retired, so I decided to continue doing what I was doing. I like doing it -- I like helping people."

When I first heard the word 'blog', I didn't know what it meant until a friend of mine told me he had a blog on his site. I realized later on that I could use that for my business. My blog will be about me and my business, and what I will do for my customers. I want to make sure they know that we're here for them.
With that in mind, Horace created www.ChisholmEStore.com, an online reflection of his old storefront. The new business may differ greatly from tending a brick and mortar store, but Horace still feels the same way about tending to his customers. "I knew that if I started a business on the Internet, I may not see people's smiling faces, but I'd know I was still making people happy."

www.ChisholmEStore.com is one of three web sites Horace manages, bringing four decades of experience in the sales and service industry to the Internet. He chose his wares carefully, keeping his public in mind at all times. "I was looking on the Internet for products to offer, and I didn't find a lot that I liked," he explains, going over his catalog. "Finally, I came across a company that offered good products, and I started up an arrangement with them. The items I carry are chosen because I think of the people who will be buying them. For instance, some of the items I have available from my merchants aren't on the site because I don't like them. The good ones, though -- the ones that make people happy, like gifts for the whole family -- those you can find on my site."

When it comes to keeping his customers happy, Horace always goes the extra mile, which is why he implemented a new blog at www.ChisholmEStoreBlog.com to interact with his customers. "When I first heard the word 'blog', I didn't know what it meant until a friend of mine told me he had a blog on his site. I realized later on that I could use that for my business. My blog will be about me and my business, and what I will do for my customers. I want to make sure they know that we're here for them." Horace uses the blog to interact with his customers, trying to bring back some of that face-to-face service he remembers from his old storefront.

Horace plans on tripling the size of his store in the future, but mostly wants to build a strong bond with his customers, like he did with the community surrounding his last store. "When I retired a year and a half ago, I announced it in the paper, and we had an open house for people who wished to come and see me for the last time," he recalls fondly. "We were shocked with the amount of people came -- we couldn't believe that so many people thought of me so fondly."
