Richmond, VA (PRWEB) February 25, 2008 -- Double duty wedding jewelry allows brides to get more for their money. Tiaras become necklaces, bun wraps become bracelets, and hair ornaments become brooches.

Think you can't wear your tiara after the wedding? Think again! Smart brides are wearing tiaras, headbands and bun wraps that convert into necklaces and bracelets, so they can be worn again on the honeymoon and beyond.

"A bride can wear the design as a necklace to the rehearsal dinner and then again in her hair as a headband or tiara the next day," says Mandy Greenan, designer for Tigerlilly bridal jewelry. "It's like getting two pieces of jewelry for the price of one."

Greenan came up with the idea of convertible headpieces when she was working with brides on custom jewelry. "I kept hearing over and over, 'I wish I could wear this for more than just one day!'. As it turns out, the length of a headband is about the same as a choker necklace. So, if you use the right sort of materials to make the headband, it's pretty easy to convert the piece into a necklace." As a result, convertibles have become a trademark design for Tigerlilly.

Other pieces that convert from hair jewelry to everyday wear are bracelets, brooches, and hair vines. According to Greenan, "Bracelets make excellent bun wraps, brooches are easily pinned into an updo, and hair vines can be worn as necklaces or bracelets after the wedding."

Tigerlilly bridal jewelry is a leader in the bridal accessory industry. Tigerlilly is regularly featured in national bridal magazines, including Brides, Modern Bride, Martha Stewart Weddings, The Knot, Bridal Guide, and In Style Weddings. Mandy Greenan has shown her collection at Mercedes Benz fashion week in Bryant Park, and has been featured on wedding specials on the WE network, Lifetime, and the Knot TV.
