On-Demand Software Gives Underdogs a Fighting Chance

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 27, 2008 -- If you visit the virtual network of MyBarackObama.com or JohnMcCain Space, you can see how on-demand software and services are influencing politics. Realizing that local elections are every bit as important and influential to voters as national races, ElectionMall has leveled the playing field by creating a web-based platform allowing all candidates, parties, and e-activists access to a competitive technical infrastructure.

“We did it! After several years, we have successfully cracked the code and given access to ALL campaigns, regardless of size or budget, the ability to quickly create and utilize presidential-level campaign tools at the local campaign level,” says Ravi Singh, CEO & Founder of ElectionMall Technologies, who will be speaking at the Pacific Crest Third Annual On-Demand Conference at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, February 28th at 1:30pm, following a keynote address by Salesforce.com, CEO, Marc Benioff. A webcast will be available at http://wsw.com/webcast/pc11/election/.

Stemming from the growing accessibility of broadband technology, the 2008 campaign season marks the first-time that candidates have secured million of dollars and built grassroots support using Software as a Service (SaaS) technology—a software delivery system that hosts information remotely over a web-based network and is rented with a licensed fee rather than purchased and downloaded.

While all eyes are on the presidential spotlight, there are 500,000 other local or state candidates running for office in 2008. Of the estimated $9.8 billion being spent during the 2008 election cycle, 40% of that total will be spent in state and local races. To date, more than 600 campaigns have launched using ElectionMall’s on-demand services, allowing them to create their own contribution pages in less than 3 minutes, by simply filling out a web-based form and uploading their campaign logo.
