As of 1/28/08 IVAA had 1031 members; USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, South America and India among others are represented in the diverse membership. As of 1/28/08 IVAA had 1031 members; USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, South America and India among others are represented in the diverse membership. The largest increase in membership was in the last half of 2007.
The International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA) (www.ivaa.org) offers exceptional resources and support to its members. Cindy Opong, IVAA Membership Director, has identified significant reasons for this membership increase.
The online educational summit on October 19, 2007. This was a unique format for an educational summit/conference and had over 150 participants from around the world. Many participants joined before the event to take advantage of the member pricing and some joined after the event because of the value they experienced.
There has been increased media exposure nationally. New members give information on how they came to be aware of IVAA, often it is from a magazine article, such as one that appeared in Readers Digest or TV news shows such as Good Morning America.
New members also hear of IVAA from internet searches; the updated website is definitely playing a role. Through increased exposure, IVAA is reaching more virtual professionals, both established and those interested in starting a new career.
IVAA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the professional education and development of members of the virtual assistance profession, and to educating the public on the role and function of the virtual assistant.
