Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 16, 2008 -- VirtualAgility, a leading provider of real-time planning and decision aid solutions for the military and homeland defense communities, today announced that it has named General Dennis J. Reimer (USA, Ret.) to its Board of Advisors. Reimer, an authority on the role of information sharing in disaster planning and response, will advise VirtualAgility on issues related to business strategy and military procurement.

According to VirtualAgility president Stuart Rudolph, "General Reimer has spent years working to improve national security by creating better links between national, state and local responders. He was a leader in the Army's program to digitize its information. Even before 9/11, he was helping lead the movement to transform our readiness to deal with emergencies. He's a visionary and also a very accomplished leader."

I am impressed with the dedication and innovation of the VirtualAgility people and look forward to trying to help them solve some of the most pressing problems facing us in preserving our national security.
During his tenure as Chief of Staff Reimer was instrumental in the development of Army Knowledge Online, a vast information portal serving upwards of one million users in the war fighter, institutional and greater Army communities. In recognition of his contributions, the Army named its digital library after General Reimer.

After leaving the Army in 1999, Reimer led the National Memorial for the Prevention of Terrorism, where he developed and implemented three national programs related to overcoming barriers to effective responder collaboration and enhancing performance. Gathering and disseminating lessons learned has been a particular focus and he has testified before Congress on the value of sharing knowledge more efficiently.

In 2006 Reimer became president of DFI Government Services, a knowledge management company dealing with national security issues. In 2007 Detica, a British firm specializing in information intelligence, purchased DFI-Government Services and he currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer and Member of the Board for DeticaDFI. As to why he is working with VirtualAgility, General Reimer said: "I am impressed with the dedication and innovation of the VirtualAgility people and look forward to trying to help them solve some of the most pressing problems facing us in preserving our national security."
