Outskirts Author Bites into Horror Genre with Vampire-themed New Novel

A small group of seemingly ordinary people is all that stands in the way of a sinister plan that could destroy the world as we know it in Outskirts Press author Lily Strange's new horror novel, "Eteternal Death, Book One: Lost Beneath the Surface."

Denver and Boulder, CO (PRWEB) March 18, 2008 -- A small group of seemingly ordinary people is all that stands in the way of a sinister plan that could destroy the world as we know it in Outskirts Press author Lily Strange's new horror novel, "Eteternal Death, Book One: Lost Beneath the Surface."

Recently released by Outskirts Press and now available through the author's Web site at www.outskirtspress.com/lilystrange, the book tells the story of how a race of malevolant vampires attempts to refashion the very laws of existence--in a way that could mean the end of the world as we know it--as they seek to reclaim their former glory on earth.

Against this backdrop, an acclaimed novelist named Terry Bruckham is awakened by disturbing memories, as well as a gathering awareness of her own past. Along with those close to her, she begins to rouse to the sinister plan. Now, the group must rise up and wage a battle for the future of the universe even as they discover the shocking truth behind mankind's history. It's a battle both in the material world and the various realms inhabited by these magnificently powerful gods and spirits, including the mysterious Dreamlands, home to the sleeping and the earthbound dead.

A wide-ranging, multi-voiced work, "Eternal Death, Book One: Lost Beneath the Surface" is told through flashbacks, excerpts from books written by the novel's protagonists as well as traditional storytelling. And it weaves a plethora of references that will be familiar to fans of the genre--including Pagan deities, Judeo-Christian angels and demons, and the creatures of H.P. Lovecraft--to create a richly imagined world at once horrifying and captivating.

In addition to providing horror fans with a terrifyingly good read, "Eternal Death" provides a way to give back. Fifty percent of the profits from book sales will be donated to the World Health Organization's mental health division, states Strange. The decision to make a contribution to the group was spurred by the book's unique collaborative origin. According to Strange, a ghost writer--in the literal sense--who began communicating with her in late 2005 played a critical role in the book's development. Because the
ghost writer committed suicide, Stange says, she hopes to stop others from making the same error.

"Eternal Death, Book One: Lost Beneath the Surface" is now available through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, and the online bookstore of Outskirts Press, at outskirtspress.com/store.php.

About the Author:
An emergency medical technician, the author who goes by the pen name Lily Strange describes herself as "a reluctant medium." She has been a lifelong student of psychology and parapsychology, an interest spurred by her own psychic and empathic experiences stretching back to her earliest memories. Inspired by the works of classic horror writers Ambrose Bierce, H.P. Lovecraft and Stephen King, and aided by the skillful contributions of a literal ghost writer, "Lost Beneath The Surface" is the first in a series of horror novels.
