(PRWEB) March 27, 2008 -- For everyone who ever dreamed of becoming a video game designer…this one's for you, with love from Golden Tee Golf LIVE!

Believe it or not, Golden Tee--the most popular arcade game of all time--will be celebrating its 20-year anniversary this September. And to tee-off the year-long festivities, Incredible Technologies, the brain behind the legendary golf game, for the first time is inviting fans and players to design their own virtual hole.

"Players have been sending us their suggestions for years," says award-winning game designer Jim Zielinski. "This is their chance to show us their stuff."

The winning hole will be featured in Golden Tee's 2009 anniversary update, which will include new interactive features designed to bring players even more fully into the world of the game.

"It doesn't matter if you sketch your idea on a cocktail napkin, submit a CAD drawing, or post your entry as a YouTube video," says Zielinski, who's created nearly 2,000 Golden Tee holes during his remarkable career.

"The point is to show your creativity and make it fun and challenging."

Contestants have until April 15 to submit their ideas. And who better to judge them than Zielinski and game co-creator Larry Hodgson, a creative team that's dreamed up more than 100 virtual golf courses?

Once they narrow the field to three finalists, the public gets to choose the winner by voting at www.goldentee.com.

"Well erect a monument to the winner right on the virtual course," says Zielinski. "It's immortality, Golden Tee style."

Considering that Golden Tee has grossed more than $3 billion to date--and has attracted a devoted following of more than 500,000 card carrying players--this is a coveted opportunity for would-be game designers.

The award-winning submission will be unveiled in September at the Amusement & Music Operators Association (AMOA) International Expo in Las Vegas, along with the much-anticipated 2009 Golden Tee update.

In honor of its anniversary, Incredible Technologies will be unveiling more events and promotions in the coming months.

For complete rules and Zielinski's tips for designing a winning hole, players are invited to visit www.goldentee.com.
