Annual guide helps visitors locate events, attractions, hotels and more in eastern Pennsylvania region.

Lehigh Valley, PA (PRWEB) March 7, 2008 -- Even the most experienced traveler can experience challenges finding things to do, places to eat and sleep, and how to get where they're going in an unfamiliar city or region. So every year Lehigh Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau improves its annual Lehigh Valley Map & Guide brochure by adding new features and revising existing sections to make it more user-friendly for visitors.

The 52-page 2008 edition of the Map & Guide provides a comprehensive overview of the two-county, three-city region in eastern Pennsylvania. Produced by Media Two, Inc. of Towson, Md., this year's brochure features an improved removable fold-out map of the region and a new "Stay & Save" insert section.

The brochure begins with a "City Profiles" page highlighting Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton, followed by an overview section of the region's many outdoor activities, web-based travel packages and web site technologies such as podcasts, RSS feeds, virtual tours, interactive map, and build-your-own travel itinerary feature.

The new "Stay & Save" insert at the center of the Map & Guide highlights the area's four most popular travel packages:

  • Stay & Play golf - Includes overnight accommodations, breakfast and 18 holes of golf, greens fee, cart and all taxes, starting at $119 per person, per night.
  • Stay & Ski - For winter 2008-2009, includes overnight accommodations and a voucher for your choice of skiing, snow boarding or snow tubing at Blue Mountain Ski Area or Bear Creek Ski Resort. Rates start at $59 per person, per night.
  • Stay & Scream (Dorney Deals) - While package prices and features vary by hotel, some include tickets to Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, while others offer park tickets at a discounted rate off the gate price.
  • Stay & Celebrate (Spirit of the Season) - This holiday promotion allows visitors to build their own holiday package based on their time, interests and budget. Rates start at $49 per night.

Other sections include "See & Do" for attractions and activities; "Eat & Drink" for restaurants and bars; "Sleep" for overnight accommodations at local hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts, and campgrounds; and "Shopping & Spas" for malls, specialty stores, boutique shops, salons and spas. The 2008 Calendar of Events features 70 events including classic car shows, musical and theatrical performances, holiday-themed celebrations and craft fairs.

The "About the Lehigh Valley" section at the back of the guide serves as a resource for visitors who need to locate a bank, medical facility or area college. The guide ends with the "Travel Support" page which helps visitors find transportation, travel agencies and local visitor centers.

The new removable fold-out map includes five separate maps: one of each city's downtown district, a view of eastern Pennsylvania and one of the U.S. Route 22 corridor. A row of coupons attached to the map provide visitors with 11 opportunities to save at select restaurants, hotels and attractions.

The 2008 Lehigh Valley Map & Guide is complimentary and can be requested by calling
1-800-747-0561 or visiting www.LehighValleyPA.org. Guides are also distributed at more than 60 brochure racks located in hotels and at select attractions throughout the region.
