SA2 Worldsync GmbH today announced its board of directors has appointed Nihat Arkan as chief executive officer. Arkan, 43, was formerly senior vice president of commercial management for Agentrics and has been a member of the SA2 Worldsync interim executive management team since its founding earlier this year.

Cologne, Germany (PRWEB) March 17, 2008 –- SA2 Worldsync GmbH today announced its board of directors has appointed Nihat Arkan as chief executive officer. Arkan, 43, was formerly senior vice president of commercial management for Agentrics and has been a member of the SA2 Worldsync interim executive management team since its founding earlier this year. SA2 Worldsync, a leading provider of master data services for retailers and manufacturers, was formed through the combination of the Agentrics GenSync business unit and SINFOS GmbH, the world’s second largest master data services company.

“Nihat Arkan has the vision, leadership abilities and extensive global experience to ensure SA2 Worldsync achieves its growth objectives and increases adoption of data synchronization across the retail and manufacturing industries,” said Christopher K. Sellers, SA2 Worldsync board member and Agentrics chief executive officer. “Nihat will be an excellent CEO, and SA2 Worldsync is fortunate to have someone of his character and ability to inspire higher levels of customer value. I thank him for his service with Agentrics and the many contributions he made over the past eight years,” added Sellers, who along with Jörg Pretzel, chief executive officer of GS1 Germany, and Ulf Adebahr, Pironet NDH member of the executive board, represent the interests of the shareholding companies.

Arkan was instrumental in the founding of Agentrics and its predecessor company, the WorldWide Retail Exchange (WWRE) – two companies focused on providing retailers and suppliers with solutions for sourcing and supply chain management. At Agentrics, Arkan was responsible for global operations, sales and marketing, product development, regional strategies and global customer management throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. Before Agentrics, he held positions in international trade management, sourcing optimization, logistics operations, supply chain management and finance. He has an MBA in international business management from Averett College, Danville, Va., and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Ankara, Turkey.

“I am honored by this opportunity to guide SA2 Worldsync as it fulfills the promise of helping retailers and manufacturers achieve higher performance through better data management,” Arkan said. “Agentrics and SINFOS are two very passionate firms with complementary technology and service capabilities that, now combined, create a global powerhouse unmatched in its ability to help businesses realize the benefits of standards-based data synchronization.”

Newly appointed SA2 Worldsync sales directors include Gina Baker, Asia-Pacific and North America; Lorraine Knight, U.K.; Rolf Stark, joint ventures and franchise partners; and Burkhard Lorry, Germany-Austria.
