AquaSensor by MG International Establishes Distribution for Pool Alarms in the United States

MG International S.A., the worldwide leader in swimming pool safety equipment, has established an extensive distribution network in the United States for its advanced technology in fall-sensing pool alarms for the 2008 buying season.

Jersey City, N.J. (PRWEB) March 21, 2008 -- MG International S.A. (MGI), the worldwide leader in swimming pool safety equipment, has established an extensive distribution network in the United States for its advanced technology in fall-sensing pool alarms for the 2008 buying season.

Bill Whitehurst, former President of Pentair Water Pool and Spa, who headed up MGI's efforts, said the major wholesale distribution channels have included two alarms marketed under the AquaSensor® by MG International brand in their 2008 catalogs, price books and programs. Product inventory is on the shelf at the MGI distribution center in Jersey City, NJ.

Without question, the most frequent reason pool professionals shy away from pool alarms and why homeowners often disarm their systems inappropriately is false alarms
Having worked on the program for the past 16 months, Whitehurst said MGI's proprietary technology has proved popular with the professional pool trade because it provides a highly reliable alarm system that greatly minimizes false alarms frequently caused by normal, routine water disturbances. The Sensor-Espio® and Swim Alert® alarms, which have been independently 3rd party tested and certified by NSF International to ASTM F2208, activate their sirens whenever objects weighing 18 pounds or more fall into a swimming pool.

"Without question, the most frequent reason pool professionals shy away from pool alarms and why homeowners often disarm their systems inappropriately is false alarms," Whitehurst said. "MGI refined its detection technology in Europe, where they have very rigorous standards for pool safety, to overcome the false alarm concern."

AquaSensor alarm systems are being used in more than 300,000 pools worldwide, due to:

  • Proprietary, wind resistant technology that minimizes false alarms
  • Simple installation on new and existing pools; no plumbing work required
  • Battery powered; no electrical work required
  • Wireless indoor siren, with low battery indicator and "remote out of range" warning light,
  • Remote control of pool alarms for easy arm/disarm, depending on the model of alarm
  • Small size and low profile
  • Effective in pools as large as 20 feet by 50 feet, depending on the model of alarm
