Jennies soft, moist macaroons are a Passover staple and year-round healthy treat. They're so delicious, they've have broken out of the Passover-only pantry and become a year-round treat for health-conscious consumers, particularly those seeking wheat-free products.
Our macaroons are clean and endorsed by a number of well-known health experts. There are few macaroons that are this good.

Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) April 16, 2008 -- Passover is around the corner, which means unleavened products like macaroons and matzoh are flying off the shelves. Brooklyn-based Jennies Macaroons stands apart from the competition with a macaroon that is not only delicious, soft and moist, but also deemed Kosher for Passover. Available in health food stores nationwide, including all Whole Foods stores, Jennies Macaroons are made from only three ingredients -- sulfite-free coconut, honey and egg whites -- are gluten-free, have no preservatives, sulfites or fillers, and are the #1 selling macaroon in the natural food market. They're so delicious, they've have broken out of the Passover-only pantry and become a year-round treat for health-conscious consumers, particularly those seeking wheat-free products.

The man behind the macaroons is as memorable as the cookies. Better known as the Macaroon King, Arnold Badner, 67, is an avid marathon runner and cyclist and is passionate about macaroons. Typically found in his running shorts tending to the ovens in his Williamsburg, Brooklyn factory, Badner says, "Our macaroons are clean and endorsed by a number of well-known health experts. There are few macaroons that are this good." Coconut is the main ingredient in Jennies Macaroons and is considered by the health industry to be the most beneficial form of fat for cellular protection. Jennies Macaroons are touted as an excellent source of coconut by world renowned cardiologist Dr. Stephen Sinatra, Jordan Rubin, founder of the Garden of Life and Perfect Weight America, and Dr. Mary Enig, a nutritional expert and biochemist.

"I knew years ago that coconut was healthy. Then the health industry said no, coconut was a bad fat, but I knew they were wrong. I fought this war for 10 years, and finally they came around," comments Badner.

Badner's newest creation pumps up his popular macaroons by adding flax, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, making a macaroon energy bar that is rich in omega 3s. A welcome addition to the crowded energy bar market, Jennies' line has been a staple in heath food stores since 1975, when Badner, who has been making Kosher for Passover cakes and macaroons under the Messing label for 40 years, entered the emerging health market with individually wrapped two-ounce Jennies macaroons.

"I am personally appalled by food manufacturers knowingly incorporating unhealthy and dangerous ingredients into the food chain," he says. The energy bars are a natural extension of the line and the sustenance Badner relies on when he goes on 100-mile bike rides in the Catskill mountains.

Jennies' line of macaroons is available in coconut, almond, and chocolate, the newest flavor, for $3.49/8-ounce canister. Jennies Macaroons are free of soy, wheat, sulfites, lactose, trans fats and gluten, nuts and yeast, and include a nutritional superstar -- coconut. All products are Kosher Parve, Maker's Diet approved, and manufactured in a gluten- and nut-free factory.
