North Andover, MA (PRWEB) April 24, 2008 -- As the second year anniversary of his promotion to CEO approaches, Ed Caselden proudly presides over a company that is experiencing steady growth, even in the face of what for many companies may be choppy market conditions ahead.

What has made L-com so successful?

"We've built a great team of people at L-com and I really enjoy working with them," Ed says. "L-com is a growing company, which creates a positive environment and additional career opportunities for our employees. Several of our managers and supervisors have been with us for many years, and most have been promoted from within the company. While others are laying off and downsizing, we are hiring and promoting."

In addition to the talented and dedicated staff, the company can point to a number of strategic decisions in the past few years that were right on the mark. In December of 2006, Ed established a new manufacturing plant, L-com Suzhou in China. In June of 2007 he led the successful acquisition of HyperLink Technologies of Boca Raton, Florida. L-com acquired Hyperlink Technologies to broaden their product offering with a wider range of wireless technology. Due to those timely acquisitions, L-com now operates out of Massachusetts, Florida and China with manufacturing facilities at all three locations. This gives both L-Com and HyperLink the ability to provide the right product at the right price to customers around the globe quickly and efficiently.

Ed is no stranger to L-Com. In fact, he has been with the company since the start. He joined L-com in 1984 as Financial Controller to assist his father-in-law and L-com founder, Al Contarino, in launching the company. (Al founded L-com after the sale of Alcoswitch, another successful electronics business that he started and operated for many years.) Over the years, Ed became involved in many aspects of the company, which laid the foundation for him to become the VP of Finance and, ultimately, the CEO.

Looking toward the future, Ed sees the opportunity for continued growth, while never losing sight of the excellent customer service that has been critical to L-Com's growth.

"I expect additional acquisitions to take place as we find other companies that are a good strategic fit," says Ed. "Our strong management team has demonstrated their ability to handle an acquisition of any size with the successful integration of HyperLink Technologies. In addition to increasing our international sales presence, we are planning a west coast distribution facility and additional North American sales offices to ensure our service continues to be the best. I am confident that we will continue to outpace the market pace by having the best team of employees, using cutting edge systems and tools, offering a wide range of quality, in-stock products, and by continuing to provide exceptional customer service."

With two years as head of the firm and 25 years at the company, it's clear that L-Com's CEO is still able to think outside the box. And that's a very good thing indeed.
