Buffalo, NY (Vocus/PRWeb) April 9, 2008 – APWagner.com, an appliance parts website, is excited to announce the winners for North America’s Oldest Appliance Contest.
North America's Oldest Appliance Contest was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of AP Wagner. It was a nationwide call to find the oldest appliance, working or not, in the United States or Canada. Contestants entered the contest by sending a two minute video featuring their old appliances. Video entries were judged on age of the appliance as well as originality and creativity. The Contest ran from October 15, 2007-January 31, 2008.
The contest had six categories. The categories and their respective winners are listed below:
- The Grand Prize winner with the Absolute Oldest Appliance was Todd Sheffy of Logan's Appliance in Jonestown, PA. Mr. Sheffy is the proud owner of a working stove from 1815. He wins three Brand New Whirlpool Appliances plus $1,000 in Cash.
- The Grand Prize winner for the Craziest Video Entry was Lee Vehe of Channahon, IL. Mr. Vehe submitted an entertaining video titled "The World’s Oldest Gas Range." He wins three Brand New GE Appliances plus $1,000 in Cash.
- The Oldest Range was a 1910 Wincroft Range belonging to MaryAnne Bigos of Reading, Pa. Ms. Bigos wins a new Electrolux Range and $1,000 in Cash.
- The Oldest Refrigerator is an icebox from the early 1900's belonging to Donna Joyce of Norman, Oklahoma. Ms. Joyce wins a new Frigidaire Refrigerator and $1,000 in Cash.
- The Oldest Washer was from 1858 and it belongs to Ed Logel of Logel Appliance in Strykersville, NY. Mr. Logel wins a new Maytag Washer and $500 in Cash.
- The Oldest Dryer belongs to Terrance Rickner of Fairport, NY. He is the owner of a 1954 Westinghouse Dryer. Mr. Rickner wins a new Whirlpool Dryer and $500 in Cash.
Honorable Mention goes to the 1927 GE Monitor Top Refrigerator. It was by far the most popular refrigerator entry, many of which are still working in homes across the US and Canada.

Throughout the contest, AP Wagner also held a drawing for a $1,000 American Express gift card for the visitors to the contest website. The winner of the American Express gift card was Laurie Conover of Colorado Springs, CO.
