Conference attendees praise the information value of the program, as well as the opportunity to network with leading companies that utilize brand-protection technologies.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 13, 2008 -- The first Brand-Protection Packaging Forum drew high praise from registrants to the 2008 event, which took place at the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg last week. Over 115 professionals attended this educational and networking conference, produced by Summit Publishing Company's Packaging World magazine, with BPCouncil.com as a supporting association. Forum attendees praised both the informational content of the program and the networking opportunities afforded by the quality of companies in attendance.

Leading brand-owners such as Intel Corporation, HP, Liz Claiborne, Johnson & Johnson Medical Device and Diagnostics, and Purdue Pharmaceuticals shared their strategies for securing brand image and product integrity using the latest packaging materials and technologies.

Keynote presenter, David Howard, Director Product Protection, Global Brand Integrity at Johnson & Johnson spoke about how to select the best authentication technology. A full day of presentations covered encryption, taggants, RFID, microprint copy, holograms, item-level serialization, and color-changing ink, plus strategic business and distribution decisions. Many brand-owners stressed the importance of using multiple strategies as the most effective way to ward off counterfeiting, diversion, and grey-market distribution.

"We're very happy with the stellar line-up of speakers Editor Pat Reynolds gathered for our first conference in this marketplace. As evidenced by past Summit Publishing Company events, we're committed to the value of peer-to-peer education; the caliber of professionals who attended Brand-Protection Packaging Forum confirms the attractiveness of peer learning. We look forward to growing this conference in 2009," said Packaging World VP/Publisher Joe Angel.

The next Brand-Protection Packaging Forum will be held in Chicago in April 2009. Additional information can be found at Packworld.com/bppf or by contacting Events Manager Adriene Cooper at 312-222-1010.
