Golf can be played by people of all body types. But to play the game longer and enjoy it more requires good physical condition. That is why the "Whole Golf" mind, body and efficiency clinic was developed, to help golfers discover the missing link in unlocking their body's potential.

Irvine, Calif. (PRWEB) April 16, 2008 -- Golf can be played by people of all body types. But to play the game longer and enjoy it more requires good physical condition. That is why the "Whole Golf" mind, body and efficiency clinic was developed, to help golfers discover the missing link in unlocking their body's potential.

The Irvine Body Balance for Performance Center (www.fitgolf.com) is teaming up with teaching staff from Rancho San Joaquin's Golf Learning Center to offer this new golf training. Irvine golfers can attend one of two 3-hour clinics scheduled Saturday, April 26 and Wednesday, April 30 at the Golf Learning Center at Rancho San Joaquin.

For many golfers, fitness and balance is the missing ingredient. This Whole Body golf training allows them to get the most out of their golf instruction, so they can progress efficiency and ultimately see results faster.
"This clinic focuses on improving balance, flexibility, strength and endurance to overcome player limitations," said Stephanie Overbaugh, director of the Irvine Body Balance Center. "It is geared for the golfer who wants to develop the perfect golf swing."

The golf training clinics combine golf swing instruction with state-of-the-art technology. Each golfer undertakes a screening process using golf technology such as the Dynamic Balance System (DBS) and the Body Motion System (BMS).

The DBS offers immediate visual feedback, showing exactly how and where each golfer's weight is distributed and how that distribution changes as they swing the golf club.

"We can see when the golfer has too much weight through the toes; we can see the slide; and we can even see the over the top move because the system monitors the changes of the body's center of gravity," said Overbaugh.

The BMS uses computerized 3D motion technology that measures shoulder and hip rotation, rotational speed, and consistency of movement in the golf swing. The BMS finds rotation and sequence limitations that cannot be seen through traditional video analysis. Customized fitness recommendations will be made for each golfer.

Following the body screening, the golfer will work with one of the PGA professionals on staff at the Learning Center. Advanced skill development, individualized swing techniques and strategies will assist each golfer in the pursuit of golf excellence.

All fitness and golf instructors are Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified.

"Fitness in golf is a critical component of the golf swing," said Overbaugh. "If a golfer has limited range of motion in their golf swing; they will have limited success.

"For many golfers, fitness and balance is the missing ingredient. This Whole Body golf training allows them to get the most out of their golf instruction, so they can progress efficiency and ultimately see results faster."
