Veteran Dog Fence Design Pros Introduce Comfort Contact Pet Fencing by Perimeter Technologies™

The most experienced electronic fence development team designs a safer fence system for pets featuring soft rubber Comfort Contacts® for greater comfort and safety.

Morgantown, PA (PRWEB) April 17, 2008 -- The name may not be familiar to many, but most pet lovers certainly recognize the Invisible Fence® brand and the dog fence category John Purtell started in 1976. After a brief hiatus from the pet fencing industry, Mr. Purtell spent the last several years as President of Perimeter Technologies building the Pet Stop® Professional Dealer network into the fastest growing professionally installed pet fencing brand and is now looking to make serious improvements to the dog fence products sold in retail stores. "I really didn't see any reason to come back to the fencing category if I couldn't help introduce meaningful improvements." Purtell said. "It was my goal to build another blockbuster brand and you're not going to do that with a me-too product."

Providing design support and a wealth of industry know-how for Perimeter Technologies is one of the most accomplished and experienced engineers in the business and previous Director of Engineering at Invisible Fence, Scott Touchton as well as a number of industry veterans from Invisible Fence® and Innotek® brands.

It was my goal to build another blockbuster brand and you're not going to do that with a me-too product.
All pet fence systems rely on a special training collar that emits a brief electronic correction to keep the pet in the yard and out of certain danger. The challenge came when the designers were asked to make the metal probes that make contact with the pet's skin safer and more comfortable for pets. After a number of failed attempts that would make Thomas Edison proud, Perimeter Technologies broke through with a comfortable alternative to hard metal probes. Unlike other ordinary pet fence systems, Perimeter's new Comfort Contact Pet Fencing System cushions the pet's neck with conductive soft rubber.

"We found that when given the choice, pet owners prefer the soft rubber of Comfort Contacts against their pet's neck when compared to hard steel." said Curt McLay, Vice President of Marketing. "The Comfort Contacts were developed with veterinarian counsel that recommended a safer fencing collar using a softer material and larger contact surface area to avoid skin infections and injuries. I think we have accomplished that with our patented Comfort Contacts."
