CB Richard Ellis Reaches Out to Protect Children against Diseases - Charity Initiative to Benefit UNICEF

In remote provinces of China, vaccines are often not delivered to all children in time or in a workable condition. Thus, CB Richard Ellis has committed to partner with UNICEF to aid the delivery process associated with the vaccination programme in these areas.

China (PRWEB) April 27, 2008 -- CB Richard Ellis is taking an active step forward in relation to the strong commitment of the company to serve the community. A CBRE Charity Golf Day will be organised on 18 April, 2008 to help raise funds for a child vaccination programme being implemented by UNICEF in China, which aims to enable children in the remote regions of China to be vaccinated against preventable diseases.

In remote provinces of China, vaccines are often not delivered to all children in time or in a workable condition. Thus, CB Richard Ellis has committed to partner with UNICEF to aid the delivery process associated with the vaccination programme in these areas.

"Many people in China are at risk of death during childhood, or in later life, because they are not adequately vaccinated. It is extremely unfortunate that people in certain areas of China cannot enjoy basic health protection and are exposed to various health risks. We are looking to take the lead in addressing this issue and in encouraging others to offer a helping hand to those who are in need," said Mr. Chris Brooke, President and Chief Executive Officer of Greater China for CB Richard Ellis.

Welcoming the initiative being pursued by CB Richard Ellis, Mr. Louis Loong, the Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Committee of UNICEF, said, "I would like to thank CB Richard Ellis for its generosity in developing this partnership and commitment to the betterment of deprived children. With its generous contribution, I am sure that it will help to succeed in reaching UNICEF's aim to 'build a world fit for children'. On behalf of the children, I would like to thank CB Richard Ellis once again for giving so much care and love."

The CBRE Charity Golf Day, to be held at Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling on 18 April, 2008, receives great support from our corporate clients. Amongst these are Eastern Gotech (HK) Ltd., Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) Limited, Henderson Land Group, JSM, Sun Hung Kai Financial and Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (ICC), all of which have promised to be sponsors of individual holes.

"I am delighted that the event has been well received by our clients. Other than those who have committed to become sponsors of individual holes, there are a number of other clients who have either pledged a direct cash donation or have become gift or award sponsors. Clients who support this event share the same mission of CB Richard Ellis and we are glad that we can collaborate with each other not only in relation to business, but also corporate social responsibility," said Mr. Rob Blain, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific for CB Richard Ellis.

To draw wider support for the programme, CB Richard Ellis has also initiated a company wide fund raising campaign within its Hong Kong office. "In addition to raising awareness amongst our clients to the need to provide assistance to children in China, we have also invited our colleagues to participate in a fund raising initiative. Employees of CB Richard Ellis always show great caring spirit to the society and I believe that they are keen to show support to this worthy cause," said Mr. Kam-hung Yu, Senior Managing Director, Hong Kong, Southern China and Taiwan for CB Richard Ellis.

All funds raised as part of the CBRE Charity Golf Day will go directly to the child vaccination programme being implemented by UNICEF in China, and will cover expenses such as training of local staff, provision of vehicles for vaccine delivery and monitoring, provision of refrigeration for storage and transportation of vaccines and community education.
