Innova™ is a comprehensive document automation platform (and macro / template solution) with a SQL-based data repository that provides for an unparalleled level of scalability and flexibility in customization. Innova is designed to streamline, standardize and accelerate the document creation and production process.

Staten Island, NY (PRWEB) May 2, 2008 -- SoftWise Corporation, creators of Innova, a powerful and flexible software package designed to accelerate and standardize the document creation and production process, announced today the release of Innova 5.8.

With this latest release, MacroSuite and Innova clients will have the opportunity to upgrade to the most technologically advanced version of the product to date that includes code rebuild and a new migration utility. Since its inception, Innova has been a comprehensive document automation platform with a Microsoft® SQL-based data repository, providing an unparalleled level of scalability and flexibility for customization. The product seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Word 2000, XP, 2003, and 2007, as well as with leading document management systems, contact management programs and fax server software.

We are very excited here at SoftWise about this release of Innova 5.8, and are confident that our clients will be also, once they have had the opportunity to work with the product.

In early 2006 SoftWise began the migration of core segments of the product from a Microsoft Visual Basic 6 to a Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 (.NET) platform. Rather than convert legacy VB6 code, SoftWise developers began rewriting modules from scratch in .NET, thus allowing them to take full advantage of the .NET architecture. Rewriting Innova modules in .NET has resulted in dramatic increases in product speed and performance, in addition to enhanced interoperability between modules and between Innova and other third-party applications.
Enhancements added include the following:

  • Full certifications for Microsoft Word 2007 and Microsoft Windows Vista
  • Streamlined setup and configuration
  • Increased overall product performance
  • Convenient portability with our enhanced Mobile Mode option that allows users to take Innova with them when they travel or work remotely.

The upgrade utility has been enhanced to support MacroSuite and all Innova clients (including version 5.5) who are upgrading to Innova 5.8. Because the Innova 5.8 database is also backwards compatible with any previous version of Innova, it can be deployed to users in stages, without disrupting the older, Innova 5.1.x user base.

Innova provides users with a simple and flexible environment to accelerate and standardize the document creation and production process. Innova's interface mirrors the look, feel and functionality of Microsoft Windows Explorer. The Dialog Designer feature is a full-scale, drag and drop GUI development platform for Word.

Because of its many innovations and comprehensive functionality, Innova remains one of the most user-friendly macro/template packages on the market. Trainers, secretaries and word processors prefer Innova because its user interface is familiar, easy to learn, and easy to use. And IT personnel appreciate the product for its ease of ongoing maintenance and customization, as well as its low cost of ownership.

President Bill Robertson comments, "We are very excited here at SoftWise about this release of Innova 5.8, and are confident that our clients will be also, once they have had the opportunity to work with the product."
