YPS Make it a Hat Trick of Shrink Wrap Systems for Specialist Chemical Company

Yorkshire Packaging Services (YPS) has installed its third shrink wrapping system in two years, at the Oldham-based factory of James Briggs Consumer Chemical and Aerosol Specialists, a division of ITW Ltd.

(PRWEB) May 3, 2008 -- Yorkshire Packaging Services (YPS) has installed its third shrink wrapping system in two years, at the Oldham-based factory of James Briggs Consumer Chemical and Aerosol Specialists, a division of ITW Ltd.

With a need to improve capacity and handle high speed production for its aerosol paints and speciality chemicals, James Briggs Ltd had no hesitation in returning to YPS to request its third shrink wrapping machine from them in two years.

"James Briggs Ltd wanted to increase production capacity and replace its older equipment. The latest Rochman side feed sleeve sealer that we have installed allows the company to shrink wrap in excess of 20 packs of aerosols per minute, significantly increasing the company's production capacity," said Glyn Johnson, YPS sales director.

The new side feed sleeve sealer and shrink tunnels are both fitted with an emergency air evacuation system. This is designed to ensure that no product will be left inside the shrink tunnel in the event of a power cut. If such a situation occurs, the machine holds a reservoir of air which is automatically released and used to drive the shrink tunnel conveyor's motor.

As James Briggs required one of the lines to be optimised to cope with an increased production line speed, YPS supplied a double chamber shrink tunnel - the first time that the shrink wrapping experts have installed such a machine. As a result of the installation, the line provides excellent performance and optimum speed for a side feed wrapper.

"We have been more than happy with Rochman shrink wrapping equipment and the backup and service provided from YPS which is why we have bought three lines from them. We have now made the conscious decision to rationalise all further shrink wrapping lines to Rochman and YPS".
