Tool invented to help a user to grip U-shaped light bulbs in overhead fixtures securely while standing on the floor; prototype available; patented design
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) May 5, 2008 -- InventHelp announces that two of its clients, inventors from Decatur, Ga., have designed a tool that would make it safer and easier to change U-shaped bulbs in overhead sockets. This invention is patented and the inventors have created a prototype.
The WRIGHT CHANGER would enable a user to replace hard-to-reach bulbs while he or she stands safely on the floor. It also would reduce the chances of a bulb shattering and possibly causing injury during removal. Designed for households and building-maintenance personnel, the invention would save time and effort.
The WRIGHT CHANGER would comprise a bulb-changing mechanism and an extension pole. The changing mechanism would be equipped with retractable hooks or prongs. To use, an individual would attach the extension pole to the changing mechanism and press a handle on the side to secure the hooks to the bulb for removal.
The inventors' own personal experiences and observations inspired them to create the WRIGHT CHANGER. "I needed a light-bulb changing tool that would make it unnecessary to get on a chair or ladder to reach an overhead light," said one inventor.
