San Francisco (PRWEB) May 4, 2008 -- Wolfgang's Vault, the online destination for live music, announced today agreement with veteran recording artists The Dirty Dozen Brass Band to distribute archival concert recordings for download at www.WolfgangsVault.com.

The arrangement between the Dirty Dozen and Wolfgang's Vault provides an innovative forum for these legendary artists, currently scheduled to perform tomorrow at the 2008 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, to release rare, historic, and previously unreleased recordings as mp3 downloads directly to the fans. In so doing, Wolfgang's Vault introduces the Dirty Dozen Brass Band to a larger community of music fans who get their music from www.WolfgangsVault.com.

My Feet Can't Fail Me Now
The first releases under the arrangement include the Dirty Dozen Brass Band's recordings from their historic 11-night residency at TwiRoPa during the 2003 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The recordings, only available on Wolfgang's Vault include the Dozen originals, "Charlie Dozen," "Use Your Brain," and "My Feet Can't Fail Me Now," along with live staples such as "Red Hot Mama" and "Gemini Rising."

The Dirty Dozen has been long known for its bracing, innovative blend of traditional New Orleans sounds and modern jazz sensibilities. The ensemble has recorded with artists ranging from Dizzy Gillespie (a hero and inspiration) to Elvis Costello. They've mixed intriguing approaches to traditional and contemporary material, while never ceasing to compose challenging original music themselves. The band has resurrected, revitalized and put a distinctly personal stamp the New Orleans Brass Band tradition, which was in a weakened state when the group formed in the late '70s. The Dozen has inspired a full-on revival that's flourished with several new generations of young brass bands, each bringing their own twists to the form.
