In Response to Recent Survey on a Natural Remedy for ADHD, NourishLife Announces a Free Sample Give-Away

Due to a lack of public awareness concerning the relationship between omega-3 deficiency in children and ADHD, NourishLife is giving away free samples of Learn - its omega-3 product specifically formulated for school-aged children.

(Vocus) May 6, 2008 -- A recent survey conducted by NourishLife revealed that less than half of the participants were aware of a link between nutrition and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, and fewer than 30% of those polled were aware that most children with ADHD have a deficiency in omega-3. Omega-3 has been proven to be a natural remedy for ADHD.

With over 20 million prescriptions written each year for ADHD treatment, we are determined to let people know that while drugs may address the symptoms of ADHD, omega-3 can address some of the underlying causes
Recent research indicates that compared to other children, children with focus and behavior issues have lower levels of omega-3s, and supplementation increases these to healthy levels. After omega-3 supplementation, children have exhibited reduced anxiety and impulsivity while also showing improved test scores, improved concentration, and improved reading ability. Approximately 8% of American children (4.4 million) have been diagnosed with ADHD according to current estimates. Symptoms of ADHD include problematic behavior, hyperactivity, child anxiety, and child depression.

"In our polling, we found that the majority of current omega-3 consumers were oblivious to the connection between ADHD and nutrition. Unfortunately, we were not surprised that so few people were aware of the omega-3 deficiency that exists in most hyperactive children," said Kara Bolton, Communications Manager at NourishLife. "Even health-conscious consumers, like those who buy our PharmaOmega supplements, are unaware that there is a natural remedy for ADHD."

"With over 20 million prescriptions written each year for ADHD treatment, we are determined to let people know that while drugs may address the symptoms of ADHD, omega-3 can address some of the underlying causes," said Jason Way, VP of Customer Experience. "Omega-3 fats are nutrients, not drugs. And, unlike pharmaceuticals, there are additional health benefits with omega-3s, not side effects. By providing free samples of PharmaOmega Learn, we can help eradicate the omega-3 deficiency in children and provide a natural alternative to Ritalin."

Learn has been specifically formulated for school-aged children. To receive a free sample of Learn, go to pharmaomega.com.
