Spur Digital, Houston's leading interactive marketing agency, won the 2007 Internet Advertising Competition award for the Best Education Microsite with its Imperial Rome microsite for the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) May 6, 2008 -- Spur Digital, Houston's leading interactive marketing agency, won the 2007 Internet Advertising Competition award for the Best Education Microsite with its Imperial Rome microsite for the Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS). The IAC Awards are produced by the Web Marketing Association to honor excellence in online advertising and recognize the individuals and organizations responsible for the best in Internet marketing.

The web site entries are judged against an Internet standard and against peer sites within their industry. They are evaluated on seven criteria: creativity, innovation, design, copywriting, use of medium, memorability and impact.

The WebAward Competitions have become one of the premiere events for web marketers worldwide. Spur's win puts us in the company of some pretty big agencies. It's a real milestone for us.
Spur Digital created the educational microsite to promote attendance at the Imperial Rome exhibit at HMNS. The site gave visitors a glimpse of daily life, emperors, and religion in ancient Rome and let them enter the "When In Rome Giveaway" featuring a luxury get away and other prizes. Visitors could also increase their chances of winning by "telling the mob" (their friends). Spur Digital enhanced the visitor experience by utilizing video clips and flash elements throughout the site. Flash banners placed on geo-targeted sites and dedicated emails were used to bring traffic to the site.

"Spur Digital is truly honored to be the recipient of an IAC Award," said Steve Latham, founder and CEO of Spur Digital. "The WebAward Competitions have become one of the premiere events for web marketers worldwide. Spur's win puts us in the company of some pretty big agencies. It's a real milestone for us."
