New, Do-It-Yourself Personal BI Tool Makes BI For the Masses a Reality

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

SiSense has developed Prism, an all inclusive Business Intelligence (BI) software that enables users, novices as well as professionals to build instant visual, actionable and interactive BI applications within minutes and without BI infrastructure and programming knowledge.

Netanya, Israel (PRWEB) May 8, 2008 -- SiSense has developed Prism, an all inclusive Business Intelligence (BI) software that enables users, novices as well as professionals to build instant visual, actionable and interactive BI applications within minutes and without BI infrastructure and programming knowledge.

Prism connects easily to various data sources like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, OLAP, Excel etc. and converts the tabular form of the database into a multidimensional model that simulates an OLAP structure but without the necessity to build and process OLAP cubes thus providing the OLAP advantages to regular relational databases users.

The software enables simultaneous data retrieval from various data sources and the creation of dynamic dashboards, ad-hoc analytics, reports, complicated multidimensional filters and formulas, yet without single line of programming. Just Drag-n-Drop.

Working with Prism is very simple and any typical Excel user can easily create advanced applications that can be updated in real-time over his or her data sources.

The deployment is immediate - download, install and use - and there is no need for a dedicated server.

Documents created by Prism can be distributed via a Prism Viewer which enables the recipients of the documents to further analyze the data embedded in the document according to the permissions given to them by the author of the document. Comparing the Prism Viewer to a PDF Reader, the PDF reader is static and a table or chart embedded within it cannot be changed by the reader. In contrast, data distributed in a Prism document can be read and further drilled or modified by the reader. In addition, Prism documents can also contain connectivity settings for the source data, allowing the documents to be refreshed in real-time directly from the reader's computer.

The ability to create dynamic documents makes Prism an ideal tool for presenting information to executives or others. PDF documents or PowerPoint presentations present static charts or tables, and when a member of the audience asks for clarification or root figures for that chart/table, the presenter will have to either break the presentation looking for information in the background or email the clarification later on. With Prism, this is done on the fly from within the document itself.

Prism documents can be either directly emailed or shared through the SiSense web site.

Prism makes it possible to shorten the creation of BI applications from many months to a few hours and at a fraction of the cost of traditional BI solutions. It takes minutes to build a simple application, to hours for a complicated one which means that information consumers can change their analytics or reporting requirement almost on the fly and yet independently of their IT personnel availability.

Prism as a personal BI tool, enables information consumers to build their information views in the way they need when they need it.

In organizations which already deploy BI platforms, the use of Prism can dramatically enlarge the circle of BI users and bring it down the line to everybody who needs information to improve their and consequently the organization's productivity and efficiency.

Organizations which, for any reason, do not have a BI infrastructure can immediately get BI power by deploying Prism at a price of a typical Web 2.0 application.

A beta version of Prism can be downloaded from http://www.sisense.com
