Turtle Wings, a woman-owned electronics recycler expands in mid-Atlantic and North East. Data Killers, the certified data destruction division, now offers both on-site and off-site shredding of hard drives and back-up tapes including classified materials.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) May 7, 2008 -- Turtle Wings Electronics Recycler seems to be all over the place these days.

In April, coinciding with a number of Earth Day activities, Turtle Wings held collection events in conjunction with Whole Foods, Potomac School, Reston Association, WRNR Annapolis, and Cox Communications. Turtle Wings executives have been featured speakers at the Sustainable Business Network of Washington and at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments.

Turtle Wings is a woman-owned company with a no e-waste landfill policy that facilitates the reuse and recycling of electronics. "Our mascot is emblematic of our dedication to recycling. Turtle Wings was formed by the recent merger of Turtle Wings and PC Recycler. They pick up and recycle all unwanted electronic equipment throughout the mid-Atlantic and North East from there three locations. Turtle Wings also provides de-installation, removal and recycling services for: robotic arms; telecom equipment; mainframes; tape libraries; lab equipment; production equipment, etc.

Turtle Wings has a division called Data Killers that provides certified data destruction services to nationwide customers. Data Killers holds the federal government contract for destroying data and can shred and/or degauss any type of hard drive, back-up tape, thumb drive, blackberry, or cell phone. Data Killers provides both on-site and off-site data destruction services and can destroy up to and including classified materials.

"There are a lot of regulations that require companies to properly destroy their data and we have services that offer complete compliance with these regulations including HIPAA, PCI, GLBA, FACTA, S-OX, and a variety of other laws. With our NSA-approved equipment, in our SCIF-type facility, we can destroy classified materials but we treat all our customers' materials as if it was classified. The absolute security of our customer's data is our number one priority."
