Bid on unique quilts in support of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) May 8, 2008 -- Mother's Day is coming up and what better gift to give her than one that warms the heart? Join the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Auctionwire on May 7th, 2008 starting at 8:00pm ET as they launch the annual Quilt Pink Charity Auction online. The 6-month auction features hundreds of unique quilts, which will be up for auction in support of breast cancer research and awareness.

The donated quilts will be auctioned off online in intervals; each batch of quilts will last 10 days long with the close of the whole auction on November 3rd, 2008 at 8:00pm ET. Each of the quilts are the product of the supportive efforts and vision of quilters nationwide who support fundraising and awareness-promotion initiatives to aid in the journey to end breast cancer, one stitch at a time.

This year, buyers and sellers will be encouraged to access the Quilt Pink Community Page to comment and share their own personal reasons for participation. The community page, provided by GivingRoom will connect buyers, sellers and supporters in an interactive forum allowing buyers and quilt makers to upload video, pictures and upload live voice clips of their stories. Visit this page at http://quiltpink.givingroom.com/

Since 2004, the Quilt Pink campaign has helped bring over 100,000 quilters and non-quilters together in fighting the disease that will affect an estimated 182,460 women this year.

Starting May 7th at 8 p.m ET, bidders are encouraged to join Auctionwire and Quilt Pink as the quilt auction goes live. Please visit www.ebay.com/quiltpink to bid and become involved in the community forums.
