Virtualization sprawl drives demand for comprehensive IT resource management solution.

Dallas, TX (Vocus/PRWeb) May 7, 2008 –- Tek-Tools Software, a leading provider of IT resource management software solutions, today announced that its growth continues with 40 new customers and several existing customers expanding installations of Profiler Suite in the first quarter of 2008. Increasingly, new and existing customers are demanding capabilities in their IT infrastructure management software solution to manage virtualized and physical IT assets.

The efficiency benefits of virtualization are tremendous, but it does not render physical assets obsolete and without a clear and comprehensive view of the virtual and physical IT infrastructure the benefits are immediately outweighed by the loss of control. We will continue to innovate to support our customers and help them to avoid this trap.
Tek-Tools answered that call in mid-February when it brought to market Profiler for VMware, a software solution for managing virtualized environments from the same Profiler console already so well known for its capabilities for managing physical IT assets. At the close of the first quarter, the new virtualization module had generated 40 percent of all licenses sold to new and existing Tek-Tools customers.

Later in Q1, Tek-Tools also announced an alliance with 3PAR®, whereby Tek-Tools’ Storage Profiler™, a high-performance, Web-based storage management solution, adds support for 3PAR InServ® Storage Servers, a category of highly virtualized tiered-storage arrays built for utility computing.

“In anticipation of the impact virtualization would have on managing the IT environment, we started developing solutions to manage virtualized assets alongside the physical,” said Ken Barth, President and CEO of Tek-Tools. “The efficiency benefits of virtualization are tremendous, but it does not render physical assets obsolete and without a clear and comprehensive view of the virtual and physical IT infrastructure the benefits are immediately outweighed by the loss of control. We will continue to innovate to support our customers and help them to avoid this trap.”
