Global Laser Vision Surpasses 1,000 i-LASIK (iLASIK)

Global Laser Vision of San Diego is proud to be one of a few centers in San Diego to own and offer this unique, life-changing iLASIK technology to its patients.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 22, 2008 -- Global Laser Vision Medical Centers, the premier center for Laser Vision Correction in San Diego and Orange County, has now treated over 1,000 vision correction patients with advanced i-LASIK, also known as Intralase or All Laser Lasik.

The IntraLase FS (femtosecond) replaces the older technology of using a hand-held microkeratome with a blade to create a corneal flap, in the first step of LASIK. The computer-guided, ultrafast laser reduces the most severe, sight-threatening LASIK complications related to the use of microkeratomes.

Since its establishment in June 2000, Global Laser Vision Medical has remained a leader and at the forefront of LASIK technologies, with over 50,000 surgeries performed by our doctors. In striving to offer their patients the state-of-the-art vision technology in Southern California, the surgeons of Global Laser Vision have become experts in the use of advanced i-LASIK, an instrument that has even been fully accepted by NASA and the military for their personnel.

Through a review of extensive clinical data, the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) has recently approved iLasik or Intralase coupled with Custom WaveFront technology for use on astronauts, pilots, mission and payload specialists who face extreme, physically demanding conditions in space. NASA's guidelines warrant the use of only the most advanced technology available to allow for greater precision in measurement techniques and treatment modalities for vision correction, thus resulting in superior safety and quality of vision for their personnel. The all-laser Lasik has also been cleared for U.S. military personnel, including Air Force pilots.

Global Laser Vision of San Diego is proud to be one of a few centers in San Diego to own and offer this unique, life-changing technology to its patients. And now, with over 1,000 iLASIK procedures in San Diego completed to date, Global Laser Vision continues to provide San Diego and Orange County residents the most advanced laser vision correction technologies available today.

While in the majority of cities in the US patients will have to pay upwards of $5500 for this life changing procedure, Global Laser Vision has made i-LASIK procedure affordable so that more patients can benefit from this latest technology in the hands of some of the best-trained and experienced refractive surgery specialists in the country.

Global Laser Vision features board certified and fellowship trained cornea and refractive surgery specialists that have performed thousands of LASIK procedures in the Southern California region alone, including San Diego, Huntington Beach, Orange County, and Irvine. For more information on i-Lasik and your candidacy for this life changing procedure, call 800-GET-LASIK or 800-438-5274.
