Northern California agency unveils new open source ColdFusion CMS.
With Sava, we've really tried to get out of the way and make it easy for people to create the best possible sites.

Sacramento, Calif. (PRWEB) May 21, 2008 -- Blue River Interactive Group announced today the release of Sava CMS, its open source ColdFusion-based content management system.

Sava CMS is software created to help people manage, update and edit website content quickly and easily with little technical knowledge. The open source CMS is a cost-free alternative to expensive proprietary systems like Hot Banana and PaperThin. As an open source product, Sava CMS gives users full access to its code base, providing programmers the opportunity to customize it to fit their needs.

"Web CMS is a crowded industry, but Sava's combination of business-friendly features and developer-focused approach will help it stand out," said Blue River CEO Malcolm O'Keeffe. "Usually, only Marketing or IT is happy. Here, both groups get what they want. And with Sava's open source licensing, they can get it for free."

With a flexible templating engine, pre-built navigation objects and search engine friendly code base, Sava CMS is designed to be a toolkit for best practice website production. Created by a team of Blue River developers, programmers and usability experts, Sava CMS supports standards-based web development with comprehensive XHTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) functionality.

"Too many CMS products come with rigid software layers that restrict the work of designers and developers" said Matt Levine, Blue River CTO. "With Sava, we've really tried to get out of the way and make it easy for people to create the best possible sites."

Given the new system's ease of use, website developers can expect a rapid development cycle even for complex sites like social networks and those requiring personalization. ColdFusion programmers will find Sava CMS code to be well organized and flexible, allowing for easy customization and extension. Content categorization, RSS support and cross platform support help round out a full base of intuitive features.

To serve marketing professionals and analysts, Sava CMS comes with a full suite of business tools, including form managers, e-mail broadcasters, dashboard views, real-time user-tracking and built-in advertising tools.

"Sava is our answer to years of working with our clients' business needs, as well as our needs as developers," added Sean Schroeder, chief user experience officer for Blue River. "It was built to solve problems for us and for our clients, and we think it can do the same for others too."
