#1 Spot on a Search Engine? Five Dollars, Please

New search engine favors David, not Goliath
Nobody looks at the 10,000th website.

Marina del Rey, CA (PRWEB) June 28, 2008 -- Small business owners often find their websites buried several pages deep on popular search engines, because the top spots are monopolized by big corporations who pay thousands of dollars to "optimize" their websites. Search engine optimization pushes websites to the top of search engines by manipulating site content, external links to those sites, and other factors.

New search engine top5pages.com levels the playing field by selling every spot for five dollars or less a year. This puts the coveted top positions within the reach of any size business.

A test version of top5pages.com has been online since early June. Although it won't launch officially until June 30, nearly 150 number-one spots have already been claimed by eager small business owners.

The site gets its name because it returns only five results for each search, unlike the thousands or millions that traditional search engines return. This quirk is explained at the top of each page: "Nobody looks at the 10,000th website."
