Car enthusiasts, hobbyists, and families can see hundreds of custom-tuned cars and motorcycles before June 29th rally from Tijuana's Avenida Revolución to Ensenada
Tijuana, Baja California (PRWEB) June 25, 2008 -- Thousands of car lovers and auto tuning fans from both sides of the border will inaugurate the 2008 StreetTour auto show and rally on the morning of Sunday, June 29, 2008, on Tijuana's famous Avenida Revolución (Revolution Avenue). "Performance auto fans and their families can check out over 200 customized sports cars and motorcycles, talk to their owners and drivers, and cheer them on before Sunday's rally between Tijuana and Ensenada," said Oscar Chavvaria, of Autoinsignia, one of the organizers of this 4th annual event, and a member of the non-profit Scuderia Hermanos Rodríguez Association (one of Mexico's leading organizations promoting the sport of auto racing).
Event organizers have confirmed participation from auto clubs across Mexico, including Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Queretaro; as well as regional clubs from the Baja California-California region, such as Wild Horses of San Diego, Road and Customs of San Diego, Club Five Element, Club Westside of Los Angeles, Club Mustang of Tijuana, Jeep Extreme of Tijuana, and Tecate Volks (picture). Chavarria added, "StreetTour visitors can enjoy a variety of Tuning, Modified, 4x4's, and classics cars, as well as motorcycles. We're also proud to have Tijuana's Mayor Jorge Ramos and the Presidents of 19 regional car clubs present at the 9 a.m. inaugural ceremony, in front of the legendary Jai Alai building."
Revolution Avenue will be closed from 3rd Street to 7th Street, allowing the public to view and walk amongst over 200 modified cars and motorcycles from 9 to 11 a.m. Street Tour 4 will also feature the participation of Alberto Orozco, from Yamaha's Racing Team and one of Mexico's top speed motorcycle pilots. Cars and motorcycles will "start their engines" at 11:20 a.m. for the Rally to Ensenada - ending at an award ceremony and car expo/festival at Estero Beach.
StreetTour 4 is a free, public event. Those attending the event from San Diego and the U.S. can walk across at the San Ysidro Border Crossing, or save time and money by crossing the border on MEXICOACH (http://www.mexicoach.com) buses and shuttles, departing from their San Ysidro Border Station Parking lot and arriving directly on Revolution Avenue. Those mentioning the "StreetTour 4" event will receive a discounted price of $6 for the roundtrip bus ride.
