Now anybody can use a web browser, a cell phone or an Apple iPod Touch to send text messages for free, by signing up with MogoTXT.com. In order to prevent SPAM, friends must also be registered. MogoTXT is advertiser-supported. Users write and send a text message. MogoTXT attaches a short ad at the bottom of each message. MogoTXT also asks users to view a very small number of other ads each month via text message. The advertisers pay for the messages and there is no membership fee.

MogoTXT has built a messaging console that anybody can use to communicate with up to five different groups simultaneously. The Messaging Console also allows people to manage their mobile lifestyle by enabling people to invite and add new contacts, block undesired contacts, and to direct incoming messages to a computer or to a mobile device. MogoTXT can deliver text messages to subscribers of all major cell phone carriers in the United States, such as Alltel, AT&T, Cellular One, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. Please note, however, that Verizon is not currently allowing its subscribers to participate in MogoTXT's group text messaging service. MogoTXT hopes to soon be able to offer group text messaging service to Verizon's subscribers.
