BrowserMedia, an interactive website development agency, won the Summit award for its work on the National Council's site.
Earlier this year, the National Council joined pioneers in the United States in offering mental health and addictions awareness and support virtually using Second Life. The National Council created an office on the Nonprofit Commons and uses Second Life to build community among those with mental illness and addiction disorders and those who care for them. Second Lifers are connected to resources for employment, comprehensive care, and grassroots advocacy to lobby for increased access to effective mental healthcare.
The Summit International Awards organization is dedicated to furthering excellence in the communications industry. Its international awards competitions attract entries from small and medium sized creative groups in more than 50 countries and five continents. The entries are judged against a stringent set of standards that include innovative and creative concepts, the quality of execution, and the ability to communicate and persuade.
