Exton, PA (PRWEB) July 2, 2008 - Scala®, the leading provider of end-to-end solutions for the digital signage market, today announced the availability of Scala InfoChannel 5, Release 3.1. Release 3.1 represents Scala's continued commitment to cutting-edge technology for its global customer base.

As Microsoft phases out Windows XP through some distribution channels over time, the major focus of Release 3.1 was Microsoft Windows Vista support for Scala InfoChannel Designer and Player. Any customers using Windows Vista, will be able to run Scala InfoChannel effectively as long as they have installed Windows Vista Business Service Pack 1 or Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1.

In addition to Vista support, Release 3.1 includes support for the Russian language, bringing the total of available translated languages for the InfoChannel platform to nine (English, French, Spanish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German, Russian and Korean). Scala also supports on-screen text in over 70 languages providing the ability to deliver digital signage content in the world's most common languages.

To address corporate IT network configurations, Release 3.1 includes support for publishing content from Designer through a proxy server which allows for Scala content to flow through large corporate networks that control their Internet traffic through a proxy server. The new release also includes support for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express and various optimizations for very large networks.

"Customer feedback and industry trends are key components of how Scala focuses our development resources. Scala continues to maintain the highest level of quality possible so our customers achieve even more success from their digital signage deployments," says Peter Cherna, VP Research and Development for Scala.
