Florida Women Put Temporary Tattoos to Work for Personal Safety

Making your way through a crowded mall you notice a young child standing alone, crying. Or perhaps while walking in your neighborhood you encounter an elderly woman, clearly confused and unable to answer your questions. How do you connect them with their loved ones as quickly as possible? If they're wearing an Eyedentity Label temporary tattoo, it will likely be only a matter of seconds, thanks to two local moms.

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) July 8, 2008 -- Making your way through a crowded mall you notice a young child standing alone, crying.

Friends Zephora Haddon and Nycole Sones noticed a common occurrence during their children's playdates in crowded public places. "Someone always seemed to be calling for a lost child," says Haddon. "We thought, 'wouldn't it be great if kids could carry their parent's contact information around without having to actually keep track of it?'" So when Haddon's children (ages six and three) went on their first vacation without her, she wrote her cell phone number on their hip with a permanent marker. Knowing they would be able to contact her quickly should something unexpected happen, Haddon felt a sense of peace and relief. Upon their return, however, she noticed the ink had worn off. Looking for something that would last longer and be more visible to authorities, she and Sones hit upon the idea of a temporary tattoo.

It's all about taking things into your own hands and trading fear for power. As parents and caregivers, obviously we can't prevent unexpected situations. This is a great tool for addressing that reality and providing a sense of freedom.
Eyedentity Label is a simple bright red and yellow, 2-inch square design made to stand out and not be overlooked as a colorful band-aid or sticker. "We also don't want kids 'showing off' a cute tattoo with important personal data, such as cell phone number or hotel information," says Haddon. As word of the new product spread, it quickly became clear that the potential applications go far beyond a lost child in the park.

  • One father had Eyedentity Labels printed with a hotel room number for his dyslexic teenage son, allowing the boy more freedom during a family vacation
  • An epileptic teen who hated his "clunky" medic alert bracelet now wears an Eyedentity Label with instructions regarding his medication while traveling with his sports team
  • The adult daughter of an elderly Alzheimer's patient no longer worries when her mother strolls their community, after a neighbor spotted the Eyedentity Label and quickly phoned her when her mother wandered farther than usual
  • Children on field trips can wear Eyedentity Labels with their school name and contact information

No matter what the circumstances, Eyedentity Labels provide a voice for those who may be unable to share vital information in an emergency situation. And that's what she and Sones are most proud of, notes Haddon. "It's all about taking things into your own hands and trading fear for power. As parents and caregivers, obviously we can't prevent unexpected situations. This is a great tool for addressing that reality and providing a sense of freedom."
