Influxis. an Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server 3 hosting partner, will be hosting thousands of RTMP connections for the 2008 Singularity web conference.

Influxis will provide Flash hosting services for the real-time video and audio streaming and other live communication applications which compose the interactive nature of the conference. Influxis has a proven network of FMS servers and is a solid hosting partner to many companies and developers in delivering real-time sessions and interactivity.

"I know that I sleep easier knowing that Influxis are handling our FMIS hosting," Balkan said. "For Singularity, Ayo Binitie and I are building a custom presentation application using Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server (FMIS), Flex, and Flash. It will ultimately be deployed on a cluster of FMIS instances capable of supporting 10,000 simultaneous connections. This monster infrastructure is being provided and supported by our awesome technology partner, Influxis."

Singularity is expecting at least 10,000 concurrent users and is selling low priced tickets in an effort to bring the world's various Flash communities together in a single event accessible to everyone from the convenience of a personal computer. It is also an effort to reduce travel pollution while making it affordable, and not require people to miss work to attend. Other major sponsors include Lynda.com and Adobe.

"This is the kind of stuff that makes history, we are glad to be able to help out," Influxis CEO Richard Blakely said. "We share the passion to advance technology and support the Flash community. Aral is a fellow visionary and Influxis is committed to making it a success. We believe that Singularity will be a conference long remembered and set a milestone in online conferencing."

Influxis is very involved in the Flash community and has sponsored several conferences including FiTC (Flash in the Can - Hollywood, Amsterdam and Toronto), Flash on the Beach (Brighton), FlashForward (Boston), FlashBelt (Minneapolis) and several others. This year, Influxis is partnering with Red5Server, Infrared5 and D&A Company in planning "Flash on Tap", a new Flash conference with a beer festival backdrop taking place in Boston, MA from October 7-9, 2008. Other partnerships include Red5Server.com, a Red5 hosting specialist, and the PaperWorld3D open source project allowing for massive real-time multiplayer 3D games in the Flash environment.
