Consumers are Voting With Their Wallets

Even in a down economy, consumers are making their voices heard, by choosing Organic, Fair Trade or Recycled goods. Florida based 123RAW.COM launches eco-chic website catering to those interested in greening up their lifestyle step by step. Including their diets. They offer a wide variety of green gifts, clothing and raw food essentials.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) July 22, 2008 -- With elections just around the corner consumers are finding a new way to stand up and be counted. "We cast our ballots every couple of years but we vote every single day with our dollars. With each purchase our voices are being heard. If enough of us choose recycled, organic and fairly traded items…big business will listen and we'll see lasting and significant change," said Rebecca Carlson, President of 123RAW.COM, a website for those seeking to green up their lifestyle, which launched June 30, 2008.

"When a problem seems overwhelming people often do nothing because they're unsure of where to begin. But, we've found if they take one small step such as buying organic produce, bringing a canvas bag to the grocery store or simply switching from regular laundry detergent to eco-friendly soap nuts, that they enjoy being part of the solution. Once committed, they actually begin to seek out additional ways of becoming environmentally friendly. And look for recycled everyday products like dog beds & toys, recycled glass jewelry, clothing made from sustainable fabrics such as bamboo and hemp, even techno-green items like solar cell phone chargers are very popular. It all starts with one action, we're not perfect, no one is. But every little bit helps. And what many people don't realize is just one recycled dog bed for example, diverts 48.5 plastic bottles from a local landfill…that's huge! We're finding extremely creative craftsmen who are repurposing everything from old bike parts and wine barrels to billboards and truck tires into beautiful and useful items like picture frames, clocks and wallets, and we're bringing them to the public. It's really exciting to see the possibilities and it feels great to be a part of this. We're helping people green up their diets and their surroundings. It's a win-win-win situation."

The website 123RAW.COM features recipes, a FAQ section for those interested in learning more about the popular raw food diet, as well as links to their charities and chat site http://123RAW.ning.com. Carlson also added "We believe abundance is meant to be shared… people, animals and our planet should be protected and cherished. That's why we started this business and that's why we are committed to donate 5% of our profits to charity. You see, we're voting with our wallet too."
