The Suffolk-County based law firm, Intellectulaw, the law offices of P.B. Tufariello, P.C., recently won an appeal before the Appellate Division-Second Department of the New York State, securing a new trial for a client who lost his business after his partners allegedly violated a non-compete clause in their business agreement.

Mount Sinai, NY (PRWEB) July 22, 2008 -- The Suffolk-County based law firm, Intellectulaw, the law offices of P.B. Tufariello, P.C., recently won an appeal before the Appellate Division-Second Department of the New York State, securing a new trial for a client who lost his business after his partners allegedly violated a non-compete clause in their business agreement.

Judges Fisher, Ritter, Florio and Carni, of The Supreme Court of the State of New York Appellate Division: Second Judicial Department ordered a new trial after Panagiota Betty Tufariello, Esq. argued the appeal on behalf of her client, Morris Sendor et al. (Morris Sendor et al. v. Matthew Chervin et al.).

Promptly filing for intellectual property protection and having the agreements associated with them reviewed by an attorney, can help people avoid suffering these kinds of losses and ending up in court.
Tufariello, founder of Intellectulaw, said this case underscores her firm's commitment their clients and the development of their business through the proper management of their intellectual property portfolio and the right litigation strategy.

"In this particular case, our client did not have an attorney draft the original non-compete agreement. His business was destroyed by unfair competition as a result of an unclear and incomplete clause, in the agreement," Tufariello said. "Promptly filing for intellectual property protection and having the agreements associated with them reviewed by an attorney, can help people avoid suffering these kinds of losses and ending up in court."

"At Intellectulaw, we are passionate about litigation," she said. "It is our goal to educate potential clients about the importance of what they need and map out a strategy that makes sense to them and for their goals."

"Litigation represents a significant commitment of time, energy, and dedication," she said. "We take the time to meet individually with every client before we formulate a litigation strategy."

Intellectulaw is a Long Island-based intellectual property law and commercial litigation firm providing legal counsel and courtroom representation to individual inventors and businesses of all sizes. Intellectulaw serves clients not only on Long Island, New York City (NYC), and the tri-state area, but all over the nation.

Tufariello, a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, has more than 14 years' experience in IP law. She founded Intellectulaw because she is passionate about IP law - i.e. the law of patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and all litigation matters associated with them - and believes she takes a unique approach to serving her clients' interests. She is fluent in four languages (English, Greek, Italian and French) and is currently learning Spanish so that she can better accommodate her Spanish-speaking clients. She has a strong background in chemical and mechanical engineering, blue print reading, drawing development and prototype formulation. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry from Long Island University, The Brooklyn Center, before eventually attending law school.
