The filly or mare who wins the 71st running of the 1 1/4 mile Delaware Handicap will gain an automatic entry in the Breeder's Cup World Championships through the "Win and You're In" program.
Wilmington, Del. (PRWEB) July 5, 2008 -- The winner of the $1 million Delaware Handicap on July 13 at Delaware Park will not only earn one of the richest purses in racing, but will also gain automatic entry into the 2008 Breeders' Cup World Championships.
The Delaware Handicap is one of only four officially sanctioned "Win and You're In" Breeders' Cup Challenge qualifying races for the Ladies' Classic Division. The winner of the race will automatically qualify for the Ladies' Classic divisional race, which will be held during the two-day, 14-race, $25.5 million Breeders' Cup World Championships, October 24-25, at Oak Tree at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. The races, which will be simulcast at Delaware Park, will also be televised on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2.
