(PRWEB) July 16, 2008 -- The oversupply of quality homes in Florida, the strength of the pound against the dollar and the prospects of recession across the USA, means more and more UK buyers are on the hunt for a Florida property bargain. And British Homes Group has helped hundreds of British families buy their dream property in the Sunshine State.

A recent article in The Orlando Sentinel entitled 'Local home values are still in the toilet, and the flushing continues' lamented the decline of central Florida house prices. However, this fall creates an excellent opportunity for savvy UK property investors to snap up a bargain.

Residential property values in central Orlando fell faster than the national average during the first quarter of 2008, according to a new study, with the average home losing another 6.4 % in market value since the end of last year. This coupled with the prospects of a recession hitting the US hard does not paint a sunny picture at all.

Property sharks in the US looking to take advantage of local housing slumps are doing their best to time the market - searching for the best moment when prices bottom out before going for the kill. But timing isn't everything. US economists also advise on investing in areas such as Florida where there is a buyers' market with healthy job growth and an oversupply of good quality houses due not to economic downturn but to overbuilding that should balance out in time.

Property investors in the UK have even more reason to invest in property in the area - notably the 26 year high of the pound against the dollar. Buyers in the US have been finding it increasingly difficult to get mortgages as 'credit crunched' US banks become more conservative in their lending decisions. This means that developers who can't sell and are desperate to raise cash and move on to their next project are literally off-loading their property on to the market. There is nothing wrong with the product, just highly motivated sellers.

To get an idea of the fantastic bargains to be had - you can pick up a beautiful 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom fully furnished home with a pool, located in the Clear Creek neighbourhood of Florida only 15 minutes from Disney World for only $225,000!

If you're convinced that now is the time to invest in Florida, how do you go about it?
