Senior IT Executives to Discuss Economic Challenges and Market Opportunities at CompTIA Breakaway 2008

Executive panel session set for August 6

They will discuss why certain regions, industries and technologies might fare better than others; and why disciplined focus and execution are paramount to success.

Oakbrook Terrace, IL (Vocus/PRWeb) July 15, 2008 -- Information technology (IT) industry leaders will address the challenges and opportunities facing the industry in the current global economy during a keynote panel presentation at Breakaway 2008, the annual member conference for the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the association announced today.

Breakaway 2008 is set for August 5-7 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando.

The executive panel discussion Economic Crisis…Or Opportunity" is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 6. Seven IT industry leaders will discuss how current uncertain economic conditions are affecting the business climate for technology solution providers. Scheduled to participate in the discussion are:

•   Derek DeVette, vice president, channel affairs, Diskeeper Corporation
•   Mike Gerentine, vice president, global channel and solutions marketing, IBM
•   Gary Gillam, vice president, channel operations, Xerox North American Resellers
•   John Gray, vice president, channels, Oracle
•   Kerry McDonough, director, channel sales, Cisco Systems, Inc.
•   Mike Menegay, global director, Dell Business Services, SaaS
•   Scott M. Vogel, vice president and general manager, global outsourcing and infrastructure services, Unisys Corporation

The panel will be moderated by Heather Clancy, vice president, strategic communications, SWOT Management.
