Feather Creek Farms Featured in News and Record North Carolina

Joseph Briley, owner of Feather Creek Farms, a Pitt County hunting preserve, was recently featured in News and Record North Carolina.

Greenville, NC (PRWEB) July 19, 2008 -- Feather Creek Farms, a hunting preserve for whitetail, duck, bear and upland bird, was featured in News and Record North Carolina. The daily newspaper provides information on local news, government, business, education, religion, sports and lifestyle.

The article titled "Hunting preserve, Down East style" explains how Feather Creek Farms operates. What started off as a working farm where tobacco, soybean and corn were harvested has now turned into an established hunting preserve. '"With over 3,000 acres and an extensive food plot and supplemental year-round feeding program, we are growing a healthy well-balanced deer herd,'" manager Darrell Holland said.

All of the deer and turkey hunting is done in the wild and within a fair chase environment. '"We plant acres of milo and millet for quail, and along with putting out pen-raised birds, we are seeing a steady comeback of wild quail,'" Holland said. Hunters can bring their retrieving dogs on excursions to hunt quail and ducks and kennels are also provided on site. A full-time dog trainer is also available for professional assistance with dogs. Sportsmen can also go to Feather Creek Farms for trout and mackerel fishing.
